We think everybody who´s into hardcore might know you, but please introduce SIX FT. DITCH - the band straight outta the dirrrty south of Portsmouth - and the band members to our readers.

Ok so I sing (Peachey), Sparky plays guitar, Craw plays bass, & loius plays drums, We started out in Portsmouth but now I live in Sweden, Craw lives near Liverpool, & sparky & Loius live in Portsmouth still.. But we are dfinaltley a POMPEY band haha.


Do you still have the early band members? Or is there someone new?

Sparky & myself are original members, we have been in SIX FT DITCH since day one, The original drummer Tony Duka left the band a few years ago, he got tired of the band & felt he needed to move on, which he did, he moved to America. The bass player we have now is Craw.. but I still think of him as an original member, he's been the band for must be 7 years now.. & before him we had so many different bass players, because it was so hard to find the right person that fitted with the band, & that liked what we played, in Portsmouth at that time we we're the only band playing that style or even hardcore at all, it was just emo kinda bands, so thats why we had to look elsewhere.. its good now we have him, coz he's perfect for the band.. we've had a few drummers since duka left, & i'm sure we will have a few more.Sparky left for a few months a couple of years ago because he had other things going on in his life, but he soon realised he couldn't stay away, which is a good thing coz without sparky its not really SIX FT DITCH.


Tell us something about pre-SIX FT. DITCH times. For example: BOGMONSTA.

haha BOGMONSTA, well that band started out without me in, it had sparky & duka in but by the 2nd practice I had joined & took over haha, it was a 6 piece band with 2 singers 2 guitars bass & drums, we had some really good shows with that band & even got to support NAPALM DEATH.. there might even be an old Bogmonsta song comming out on a compalation CD soon.. but you will have to wait & see.


Tell us something about your band name. Is there a relation to something special? And is it spoken "FEET" or "FOOT"?

Its SIX FOOT DITCH, people always seem to say SIX FEET DITCH, I have no idea why.. we try & say six fooooooot Ditch in as many songs as possible haha, But a six foot ditch is the hole thats dug when you get buried, the hole the coffin goes in. We got the name from a Geto Boys song..NIGGA IN THE MORGUE.. from the line "Tonight i'll be dragging muthafuckers of to a six foot ditch". We just wrote it SIX FT DITCH so it stands out & people know straight away its us & it looks better on shirts & stuff.


Fans of the genre can find many quotes of horror movies in your music when they are really into it. Further, most of your lyrics deal with "famous" murderers, serial killers, horror and stuff like this. And all about SIX FT. DITCH is influenced by this "evil stuff". Like your logos, merch and so on. Why this theme(s)? Is it fascinating you guys?

Yeah its just something we are interested in, I just thought be good to sing about something different than most Hardcore bands, & Serial Killers is real life, so people in hardcore always say about keep it real.. so we are..Plus its better to sing about killing people & revenge than actually doing it right?


And what are your favourite horror movies?

Favorite, hmmm I have so many & different kinds I love all the old Creature from the black lagoon, wolfman, Frankenstein stuff, plus all the video nasties.. like the zombie movies, cannibals, Last house on the left I love,unhinged, plus cheesy movies like JACK FROST about the killer snowman that films so bad, I think me & sparky are the only people who like that movie haha but pretty much all I love, cept most horrors these days are re-makes & suck.. or they just suck anyway, every now & again a good new one cames along Like DEAD SNOW.. thats a good new one..


Certainly there were some bad experiences with SIX FT. DITCH and its attitude cause of all this above mentioned things. Could you say something about your experiences with bookers, other bands and people?

We havn't had any bad experiences really with anyone, we always get paid, we seem to get on with everyone.. everything so far has been good.. I bet it all fucks up now haha.. but when stuff goes wrong at a show, its usually funny.. we don't really care. long as people have a good time. one show we played in luxenbourg kids went so nuts someone threw a tree on the dance floor, & the owner of the club got pissed of & turned the power of so that was the end of the show.. you can see him at the end of the Blood on the soil video.. but we just thought it was funny.. we only got to play 5 songs i think it was, but everyone had a good time & SURGE OF FURY played so it was all good.


Some people call it "Tough Guy Beatdown", others call it "Murdermusic". Please tell us how you name the music you guys play.

People have called it Murdercore, & we say that alot because we do play hardcore & sing about murder so maybe it is murdercore.. but we're just a hardcore band, we take our influences from all hardcore.. but we do love to have mosh parts..


SIX FT. DITCH did a long break. We all thought SFD quitted, so we´re glad that you´ll continue. How came it to that? And what did you do in the meantime?

Its just we didn't do a CD for a while, we still played shows, sparky left for a lil bit, But we never broke up.. its just we had other things going on in our lives, this new CD was supposed to come out last year, but for one reason or another it was a year late, but at last its here. people in the band had kida & moved away & stuff, so SFD wasn't top of the list, but we don't play that many shows anyway, coz of work & stuff..


After four years there will be a new album of you soon. Release date is halloween this year, isn`t it? And could you give us the title or is it a secret?

The new CD is Called "RECREATIONAL VIOLENCE" & yeah its out on Halloween on FILLED WITH HATE RECORDS.



Are there any differences to your last albums?

I think this new CD flows together better than the last, when you hear it you will know what I mean. I think its sounds different from the older stuff but still very SIX FT DITCH, you can still tell its us. But we have a different drummer on this CD who plays a different style than the last, but this drummer is a million times better than the last & it shows.


We all recognized, that you did a song with James "Stickman" Ismean. Will this track gonna be on your new album? Who had the idea to make a song with James?

Yeah that was Crazy how it turned out, all of SFD have loved FURY since day one, he's my fav HC singer.. So when we wrote the new cd, sparky wrote a song & I had lyrics already written called V IS FOR VENGEANCE.. not even thinking about STIKMAN.. When sparky sent the song he said it sounds a bit FURY OF FIVE, coz he had been playing so much FURY OF FIVE at home. So I heard the song & thought how good would it be to have stikman on this song too. I never even spoke to him or met him.. So I just wrote him & asked if he would do it, he wrote back saying yes.. We sent him the demo version & he recorded his parts in the states, then when we recorded the cd we just mixed his vocals into the newly recorded song, I think it came out awesome, it sounds different from our other stuff but still got a SFD feel to it.


How was the collaboration with him and what does that mean to you as a band, to work with such a "legend"?

Fucking amazing, Still doesn't seem real..


Tell us something about the track "This is the Zodiac speaking".

That song is about a serial killer who called himself the Zodiac, he was around in the late 60's & was never caught.

And what can you tell us about the song "I Cut Out Your Name" feat. Matthi NASTY?

That song is amazing, its about some swedish girl who fucked around with me & my family, don't need to go into it.. but I lost a lot of friends because of her shit talking, but thats the good thing about being in a band, you get to write diss songs.. & Matthi I love matthis voice so I wanted him on the CD, plus he owes me I sang on a NASTY CD haha..


On the SIX FT. DITCH album "Voices From An Evil God" is the bonus track "Sfd Rap Burlesque Preview". (Perhaps you can among the track "Northwest Queens " from "Unlicensed Cemetary, too). Will there be any new rap stuff or was it just for fun?

nah there's not rap songs on this CD, but next summer we are doing a split CD with DOGGY HOODZ from Japan, & we are gonna do a rap tune on that, may even be a cover.


When you think of the german hardcore scene, you might think of Axel and FILLED WITH HATE REOCRDS and RICO17STITCHES. What do you think, how important are such people for the hardcore scene? Especially in germany?

I think Rico is the most important person in the German scene, he does so much & puts on the best shows.. & even tries to save venues from closing, so kids have somewhere to have shows.. He's the one to first put on SFD in germany, he gave us a chance when we thought no one even knew who we we're.. & the show fucking killed it. FWH do good stuff too, thats why we decided to stay with FWH for this record, axel lets us do what we want, & I trust him which you need in a lable really..


Please tell us something about the scene in the UK. Are there many differences to the german one?

There's more kids a shows in germany, & you get treated better when you play.. Also kids in germany & belguim treat us like rock stars which is kinda funny, like ask for pictures & autographs.. people don't care in the UK haha.. But I think its cool though, i'm the same when we play with bands I love , I try get a pic with them, i'm a right famebitch haha.. but the UK now there are so many good bands comming out like HORRORSTRUCK, COLD HARD TRUTH & BROKEN TEETH..

I think people don't really know what really goes on inside peoples head, so some people think this is the way of escape & there like would be better this way, but that doesn't help the ones they leave behind.

Still good friends with them, they got some many fucking good CDs comming out all the time AMBUSH, PROWLER, CHAINS OF HATE & the new NINEBAR is on its way too.

he's our boy, he did the last sfd inlay & he's doing the new one too. he's a good guy & one of my good friends for a good few years now. he's even been on tour with us doing our merch. he knows what SFD is all about, he's one of the few people who really get us.. & if you know all that you get more outta the band.
